Crochet Workshop @ Dalgarno Centre

Healthier Life 4 You/Healthworks Crochet sessions @ Dalgarno

My name is Dia, and I have been coming to Crochet sessions since October 2013, and I have been amazed at my progress. I did have a design that I saw and waited to do before Crochet sessions but I couldn’t crochet. These sessions helped me enormously to carry on with my creative expression and to go forward and get excited about the prospects of not only selling my stuff but becoming good at crocheting and also being inspired to do other creative stuff. Fai has been an inspiration, and so has Jul and Dan, I love this class immensely and I hope it will continue. With Healthier Life 4 You Support I have now been able to get a stall to sell my items at Portobello Market.

African Dance Sessions @ Venture Community Centre

·         I found this very enjoyable with good movements and well taught. Tutor very amicable and friendly. Class well attended and it was a pleasure and fun to participate. Hope this class/session continues as it is a very easy manner in which to tone up and manage one’s weight without mundane exercises. Dance movements lighten up the mood and removes stress. Congratulations to the person who thought of putting on/running this session Hip Hip Hooray!! (Ada) 1.30pm, 16th July 2014

Comments/Feedback on Local Craft Workshops

“Working with Healthier Life 4 You has been a productive partnership for the library and the event organisers are always very professional. The crochet group in particular has been a big success and allowed us to offer something different to our customers. Improving the health and wellbeing of the local community is one of our goals and such partnership helps us achieve this.”

2013 African Dance @ Healthier Life 4 You

African Dance.@ Healthier Life 4 You

African dance has transformed over the years with African music. The traditional African dance is gradually making way for more modern dance moves. Dance in general is expressing yourself by coordinating body movements with the aim of communicating.

At Chelsea Theatre, Portobello Gym and Henry Dickens we dance African Dance to enjoy moving our bodies while keeping active. The dance is mixture of  Soukous and Pop dance while including stretching exercises for different parts of the body.
